The wild garlic or ramsons are starting to peek through and its so exciting to be able to start foraging again. I hope you enjoy this Youtube video which I made where I forage for wild garlic and then build a homemade tripod campfire cooker from reused items and junk. We spend the evening cooking on the campfire and have a chilled out slow afternoon and a wholesome meal together.

When foraging always make sure to use three sources of your own to identify plants and fungi when foraging for wild food, and only take what you will use in responsible amounts. Happy foraging 🙂

To make the wild garlic dumplings follow this recipe and add them to whatever stew or campfire soup you are making.

Recipe for wild garlic dumplings

  • 200g of self-raising flower
  • 100g suet (original or vegetarian)
  • 10 tablespoons of water
  • A handful of finely chopped wild garlic

Mix together and lightly knead into little balls just smaller than the size of an egg. Add to your simmering stew or soup and cook for 20 minutes with a lid on. Serve and enjoy!
